The history of Tarot
The origin of these cards comes from ancient Egypt and a branch of the famous "Book of Thoth" or holy book whose origin is believed to have been done in gold leaf and issued by Thoth Egyptian God "who was in charge of predicting the future and time measurement.It also ascribes the invention of writing numbers and engravings. Apparently he had every respect for the rulers and the adoration of the people regarded him as the God who ran the life and destiny of all. It appears that at the time of the Ptolemies to Hermes came to be regarded as the incarnation of the God Thoth, and he was also a great king in Egypt.
The major arcana is believed that his works were embodied in the Emerald Tablet, which was a gem that was recorded in the table magic, and was later found in the tomb of Hermes. This table can it be equated with the tables that were established in the law which Moses.
Many of the symbols displayed on the "Book of Thoth" is believed to come from the teachings of ancient civilizations that inhabited the Earth for nearly eighty centuries, and left the track with these prints, many of them very current today.
It appears that the "Book of Thoth" was written before the pyramids were built and even from the beginning of Egyptian civilization. In that book the entire universe was condensed, animals, civilization, material and spiritual world, the intellectual world, heaven, divinity, humanity and the cosmos.
Many prints of this book have to do with astrology and hence there is some similarity in part on their interpretation. It is believed that the creation of this book was a cause of great cultural information about the era and a desire to explore and discover the progress, science, and evolution of life.
There is a great similarity between the prints of the "Book of Thoth" with engravings on the pyramids and sphinxes. Of these prints has led the creation of the prints of the major arcana in fusion with the 40 letters of the suits of cups, batons and gold that identify us everyday.
This set of cards are called "Tarot" or "Egyptian Tarot" and which is used through the centuries and cultures as a method of divination.
